Scholarships
The Rotary Club of Pottsville awards 3 scholarships each year.
(1) In the name of Henry “Hammer” Herring
(a former longtime member of Pottsville Rotary Club and former CEO at Penn State Schuylkill)
Current scholarship in the amount of $1000
Criteria:
- Must be a student in good standing, attending Penn State Schuylkill
- Must be a resident of the City of Pottsville
- Must be based upon need and potential for academic success
- Recipient will b selected by the appropriate school scholarship committee
- Recipient and family will be invited to a Rotary luncheon meeting at which the scholarship will be presented
(2) In the name of Dr. William R. Davidson
(former Superintendent of the Pottsville Area School District)
Current scholarship in the amount of $1000
Criteria:
- Must be a senior attending Pottsville Area High School
- Must be a resident of the City of Pottsville
- Must be based upon need and potential for academic success
- Recipient will b selected by the appropriate school scholarship committee
- Recipient and family will be invited to a Rotary luncheon meeting at which the scholarship will be presented
(3) In the name of Henry Fick
(a former longtime member of Pottsville Rotary Club and avid supporter of Nativity BVM High School)
Current scholarship in the amount of $1000
Criteria:
- Must be a graduating senior attending Nativity BVM High School
- Must be a resident of the City of Pottsville
- Must be based upon need and potential for academic success
- Recipient will b selected by the appropriate school scholarship committee
- Recipient and family will be invited to a Rotary luncheon meeting at which the scholarship will be presented
